Kehr-Buffalo Wire Frame’s reputation for fabricating intricate spring solutions is well known throughout the industry. This is what brought this torsion spring project to us. The client needed a spring that would be used in a high performance automobile brake. This aftermarket torsion spring required complex ends and fabrication to tight tolerances.
Fabrication began with spring forming 0.120″ diameter T302 stainless steel into a 2.31″ long, 1.33″ high, 1.24″ wide torsion spring that had a coil inner diameter of 0.812″. The spring had 3.25 total coils and was finished with a dry film coating. This application required a spring made to precision measurements and we met that with tightest tolerances to ± 0.010″ and angular tolerances of ± 0.5°. Producing 250 springs in 10 days fulfilled the requirements of this client.
The table below outlines the fabrication of this steel torsion spring project. To learn more, please feel free to contact us today.
